I’m feeling all things K. Flay now. She’s blazing her electro leaning beats at SXSW right now, then she will come back to San Francisco to finish up a record that will be released by RCA Records; In other words: she’s about to blow up, and it’s about fucking time. “miniVANS feat. Eligh” (of Oakland’s Living Legends Crew) is off her 2009 mix-tape, MASHed Potatoes, and gives you a sonic marker of just how hard K. Flay can drop.

I recommend you listen to “Head Excercise” on repeat. Each listen builds on the next letting you to muse on how dope the crashing drums, hook, and sick vocal delivery are. I wish the Lifesavers come out with new marital soon. And I hope we all get some of your own head excercise this weekend — if you know what I’m saying.

Earlier this week when I heard Heavy D died I thought of another famous rapper who died last year – Nate Dogg; Nate was 41, Heavy was 44. So when I found my man The Polish Ambassador remixed the breakout hit from Warren G, the serendipity overwhelmed me, and I just had to share this track. The Polish Ambassador’s touch on is remix is a work of class — leaving the objectively dope production of “Regulate” intact, while lifting the track with his signature spaced-out sounds.
